Corrine Bailey Rae - Butterfly
I'm really working on improving my lifestyle. Working out. Yoga. Meditating. Relaxing. Cooking. Soaking up the summer spirits.
I've invested my whole summer into RELAXATION...and it's a beautiful thing.
Titus' cousin, Josephine, is coming on Wednesday. I'm SUPER excited because we'll show her around to many places...which also means...FOOD, FUN, GOOD COMPANY, ARTSY-FARTSY PHOTOGRAPHY, all the good stuff. Summerlicious '09 on JULY 18 @ 730pm LA FENICE...not too fancy, but I hope it's really good!
I think this is the first summer that I've truly taken to enjoying. Or rather, consciously enjoying.
I learned how to do at-home pedicures...
GOALS for the summer:
- buttery smooth skin (w/ the help of 2 doses of body butter a day)
- smooth and moisturized feet (no more cracks and yucky dryness!)
- read 2 good books (on the shelf are Lolita and The Jade Peony)
- healthier lifestyle
- get mentally conscious for a tough school year
- be happy and healthy
- love

On another note, I want to mention that my dad really thinks everyone will fail if they always start something and don't finish another. This came from a discussion of me not completing a minor in French like I had previously aspired to do. As it is no longer a practical option...I'm just going to do the bare minimum to get my bilingual undergrad.
In 4th year, I'll take some Korean and Cantonese. Just think I should have some basic knowledge in my mother tongue. (Ashamed!)
Anyhow, I think that to go through life doing things that you don't necessarily need to do ... and to just stick with them until the end just to be able to accomplish something is not the way to go about things. Although it is discipline, I think that it is ultimately more important to try everything, until you find something right for you. Obviously, that does not describe me at all. I'd rather go around trying different things - just getting a taste of everything. I don't need to be an accomplished somebody. But I want to be able to enjoy more of everything. Doesn't that sound greedy. There are moments when I don't feel like I've accomplished anything. But then again, it doesn't matter if you're a pianist, or multilingual professional in the afterlife.
The simple life is the good life.
On a side note:
I'm really happy that I've got friends planning my 20th birthday. :)
